Ingredients:

For the bulgogi:

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

For the kimchi:

  • 1 pound kimchi (store-bought or homemade)

For the banchan:

  • Your choice of side dishes (e.g., pickled radish, seaweed salad, bean sprouts)

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the beef: In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, honey, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Add the beef slices and toss to coat. Let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
  2. Cook the bulgogi: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Grill or cook the beef until it’s cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  3. Prepare the kimchi: If using store-bought kimchi, simply serve as is. If making homemade kimchi, follow your preferred recipe.
  4. Serve: Arrange the cooked bulgogi on a plate. Serve with kimchi and your choice of banchan.
